With the 2014 race season fast approaching renowned motorcycle racer Derek Brindley has been working hard to launch a new Dirt Track racing team. 'Team Kawasaki Dirt Track' will consist of two riders. Alan Birtwistle, needs no introduction to those who follow the UK Dirt Track scene. Over the past two years he has worked his way through the ranks to take a second place in the 2013 DTRA National Championships. Alan is currently in the USA competing and training. He will return to the UK just before the start of the 2014 season to settle into his new team place. 15 year old Oliver Brindley has taken the junior ranks of the DTRA Championship by storm his consistent form winning championships has seen him take an adult licence a year early. Oliver will be the youngest rider in the UK 2014 Pro Class. Derek Brindley, Team manager, I am really excited to have put this team together with the help of Kawasaki Motors UK. The Dirt Track racing scene is growing quickly in the Europe and the UK the race series is gaining more and more attention. I will be drawing on my racing experience to help these two lads achieve great things in the 2014 season. Ross Burridge, Racing Co-ordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK said; "Having not been involved directly with Dirt Track before, after being contacted by Derek we saw it as a great opportunity to dip our toes in the water and see what it's all about. Derek runs a very professional team, and rider Alan Birtwistle runs right at the front of the British Championship; so it made perfect sense to offer some assistance in making sure that is where he stays! We look forward to seeing what the team are capable of in 2014."
