Since 2005 the UK has had its very own Flattrack Championships. The UK scene has been growing every year with more new bikes and rider starting to race. Racing in the UK is mainly on speedway tracks with some use of larger horse trotting tracks and TT courses. Races are normally contested between 12 riders in 3 lines of 4 riders. The duration of each race is 6 or 8 laps with finals of 12 or 15 laps. Unlike speedway the bikes have a rear brake and gears. Typically riders can expect a minimum of 3 heats, sometimes semi’s and a final per class they enter. Many riders choose to enter more than one class.
Our GNC class attracts the cream of UK Flattrack racers and often a handful of guest stars from other disciplines. Our GNC riders are of a quality that they can compete at an international standard and do a fantastic job representing the UK in Europe and USA. Club membership and race entries are kept to a minimum to encourage participation in the sport. Many current clubman riders enjoy the fact that they can race a whole season on a single rear tyre and minimum other costs.
All spectators and riders are welcome at our friendly race meetings. Often our races our free to spectate.
Our Classes include
GNC National (Open class for riders with National numbers)
GNC Restricted (Open class for riders without National numbers)
GNC Thunderbikes (Bikes over 600cc MX bikes excluded)
Minibikes (Up to 150cc)
Youth (All ages 7 – 17 in appropriate classes)
See you at the Races !!
