Palau Sant Jordi Barcelona was the venue for the largest Dirttrack event that Europe has ever seen. The line up read like a real who's who of motorcycle sport.

The DTRA was represented by 4 riders who were selected from the winners of the Noyes Camp Dirt Track Fesitval in Spain. The level of riding at the event was very high, current Moto GP champion Marc Marquez and AMA Flattrack #1 Brad Baker headed the line line up. DTRA riders Tim Neave, Tom Neave and Alan Birtwistle represented the UK in the Open Class along side Bradley Smith and Christian Iddon in the Superprestigio class. All the DTRA riders made it to the main event in the evening, Tom Neave Qualified best 3rd in the open class followed by Tim and Alan.

It was Alan Birtwistle who made it count in the opening heats leading for the first 2 laps he ended up taking 2 second places behind AMA #1 Brad Baker.

Both Alan and Tim lined up for the Open Main but a poor start and a fall didnt help there chances of a place on the podium.

Oliver Brindley suffered a similar fate in the Junior class. He walked the qualifing practice and was top of the timings as he entered the evening event. But a first corner tangle left him on the ground at the back of the back. Despite posting the fastest lap times he was unable to catch the lead pack.

It was US No 1 Baker who took the win in the Jaw dropping Superprestigio Final after some hard racing with Marquez.

Roll on next years event!
